The three Blaine cousins walked home from classes together. Cody went to the high school, but it got done a little before the middle school that Cassidy and Tyler were at and so he'd ride one of the buses there. By that time the middle school was done and they were close enough to this to walk to their individual houses. They would have to split ways here soon as each lived in a slightly different area.
Tyler split off first, his house right on the part that the three could walk together. Up ahead Cody and Cassidy would need to split and go opposite ways. Cassidy always hated the few blocks where she walked alone. She didn't like being on her own, always fearing that something she couldn't handle on her own would happen when she was alone.
She didn't have a choice though, as Cody waved goodbye and she turned to walk the last few blocks by herself. It was when she'd only gone one that the giant shadows fell over her. Two large robots came to a landing, one in front of her and another behind her.
"Mutant signature detected. Analyzing… Unregistered mutant discovered… Identify yourself or suffer consequences"
One of the robots spouted that and Cassidy glanced around her. Mutant? Where? But then, there was no one here but her.... "There must be some kind of mistake. I'm not a mutant." Except.... Being a mutant would explain how that pegasus had just appeared out of nowhere the other day. She didn't think it had been her that had caused that, but it had to be if these had come for her.
Still, it seemed there had been a time limit on the order as the tentacle of one of the sentinels whipped out and picked Cassidy off the ground. She screamed. "Help! Someone help me!" But no one came. The robots took of into the air taking the fourteen year old girl with them to wherever they went with the rest of the mutants they picked up off the street.

He gasped at the vision he'd just seen. He was grounded - and that left him a whole lot of nothing to do. So instead, he'd gone hunting. Granted, this was a prime example of 'looking for trouble' - he had been trying to find people nearby. It wasn't exactly spying, but he figured, if he did this right, he could avert any real tragedy. At this point, he was about twenty minutes in the future - and it was like watching the world in stop-motion camera. He'd been looking for nothing in particular, but what he'd found...
that was why he was running.
"Miss Munroe!" He was pounding on her door. The girl hadn't even fought back while he was watching, so Cerebro wouldn't even pick up on her. Maybe this was precisely what he was supposed to be doing. Averting future disasters. He looked to the other side of the door, and saw that, unfortunately, she wasn't there.
Typical!
He squeezed his eyes shut - something to help him focus, though wholly unnecessary - and started Looking around.
Logan!
He started running, towards the downstairs area. The Danger Room. One of those places kids like him weren't supposed to go - but, obviously, he did. He didn't care if he got grounded, this was more important than that. His fingers nervously entered Logan's pass, regardless of how intrusive that might be.
He ran into the fully active Danger room, completely without any hesitation or ideas to the contrary.
"Logan! Logan, there's trouble! I need your help!" He was yelling, looking for him, which was why he didn't see the spike ball heading right for him. He had to save that girl - bad ideas seemed completely outlandish. Standing still in the danger room? Definitely one of those things that he ought not be doing.
All he could see was her face. Terrified, as the Sentinels took her. He couldn't let that happen.

'1...2....3...6...7.' Logan counted in his head as the spike balls kept coming for him. Each time they got within a few feet they quickly dropped to the ground, sliced down the middle. Logan stood in the center of at center of all the action, sweat dripping from him, staining his white tank top that he had on. His jacket laid on a hook in the corner by the door. He gave a few leaps and flips as the next 3 spikes came. He dodged the first two and pounced on the third one, landing straight on it. He punched it with both of his fist, his claws slicing through his flesh and into the metal like a knife to hot butter. He ignored the pain that came along with the protruding metal claws, and quickly ripped the ball in two. The other two did a quick turn around and headed at him in fast speeds. He stuck out his arms as one spike ran straight into his claws, slicing into pieces on the ground. The other had side-tracked to the door...
Logan gave a quick pounce, his feet kicking the ground and launching him into the air. He hit the spike dead on with his chest, letting it avoid Christian's head. He stood up, a gaping hole in his chest with the ball planted firmly inside of it. He gave a soft growl as he ripped it out, throwing the ball to the ground. "What's the danger, Kid?" he asked, not paying attention to what just happened then and there. His wounds started to heal up quickly before the kid's eyes, the hole where the ball was vanishing. He tugged the kid's arm and grabbed his jacket, throwing it on. "Explain it on the way there." He said, assuming the problem was outside of school. They quickly hurried to the garage where Logan's bike was. He hopped on, grabbing the kid and jerking him on as well. The roar of the engine could be heard as the bike with it's two passengers sped out of the drive.

"Logan, it's a girl. She's my age--" Normally, he wouldn't have specified that, but generally, when it was a kid, it gave someone all the motivation they needed to make movements. He clung to Logan, as wind whipped by, using his Sight to make sure he wasn't in any particular danger. It wasn't his fault - he'd never been on a bike before, and it didn't exactly feel safe, even with the world's greatest defensive player driving.
If he hadn't seen Logan heal before, he might have freaked out at the man's performance - healing was interesting, but he was far too worried about the other problem. The thing he was grateful for was the fact that Logan had managed to save him, and he hadn't even known he was in danger. Thank goodness for good things.
Yelling to make sure he was heard, he started pointing directions. "I saw her! In the future! We've got about--" He let go long enough to shake his sleeve back and look at his watch. "--Nine minutes. Sentinels are going to show up and grab her - I don't know what her power is but she never used it. She was so scared..." He shook the image from his head. "We've got to go a little faster, or we won't get there on time!" The future was a very fickle thing, and he didn't know the consequences for the actions he was taking.
He didn't care, either - no one deserved to get snatched by those giant metal monsters. And, not for nothing, he was a bit nervous about Logan's ability to handle it. It was only two, but two was still a lot - and it wasn't like Logan could shoot lightning. He just hoped, though, that everything would be okay.
Biting his lip, he made another gesture, pointing where the next turn was, and bracing to make sure he didn't bother Logan's turn. Last thing he wanted was to be a bloody smear on the road. Logan might recover - he certainly would not.
He uttered a silent prayer, and hoped they got there in time.

Cassidy walked along with her two male cousins, laughing at a story Cody had been telling. "They honestly didn't do that, did they? How dumb can these people be" she asked when she'd finally stopped laughing. Two of the trouble-making students in one of Cody's classes had stolen another kid's clothes, forcing him to chase them into the hallway wearing only his boxers. It wasn't the storry she found funny so much that the kids had thought they wouldn't get in trouble. The result had been much different than they expected.
"They were so pissed off when they got in trouble and he didn't even though it had been indecent exposure on his part. It wasn't like he'd had much of a choice, and the teacher knew that," Cody said, shaking his head. For his age, Cody was a lot more mature than some guys his age were. They were coming to the point where they'd have to separate though. First up came Tyler's house.
"Looks like I have to go now. See you tomorrow," the youngest cousin said as he crossed the street and headed inside.
"See ya! See ya!" called the other two. Now there were a few more blocks left before Cassidy and Cody would have to part ways and Cassidy would be on her own for five blocks. In Christian's vision, she only made it one of those blocks before the sentinels attacked her. Time was running out to prevent this from capture from happening.

Logan gave a tug to the left and the bike leaned, making him and Christian just a few inches from the pavement. He soon tugged to the right, the bike going back upright as he twisted his wrist, shoving the gas up to full throttle as they sped down the small neighborhood street. The noise of what sounded like a helicopter could be heard, and Logan peered up, only to find a Sentinel flying over their heads and into the neighborhood, lading on the next street. "We've got company" he shouted back to Christian as they sped down the road. Logan's mind ran fifty miles ahead of his body as he quickly made a sharp right turn, darting through someone's yard. He revved the engine quickly going up a a piece of wood connected to a fence, landing on the other side with perfect accuracy.
The bike slid to a stop as as he looked up at the tall, giant like man made of red and steel colored metal. He watched as it took giant steps, scanning each house as it passed. Logan was too shocked at the moment to react to situation. He growled softly as he looked back at Christian. "What are our options Kiddo" He said gruffly as he watched the Sentinel continue down the street growing closer and closer to its target. "Can you drive a bike?"

He looked at Logan, honestly really afraid of the implications of that question. "I... what?! I watched YOU drive, that doesn't necessarily mean I can handle it..." Of course, the Sentinels were almost there, and that meant the girl was in trouble. "She's gonna be right there!" He pointed to the corner where Cassidy had turned in his vision. They met almost simultaneously.
Asking a fourteen year old if he could drive a motorcycle was one thing. Him actually performing the act was something else.
"I can distract them... or... or... I dunno. I can find us a good hiding spot... or... I can watch... I don't think I could drive the bike." He finally replied. His heart was pounding in his chest, and adrenaline was pouring through his veins. Last time he'd seen a sentinel, it had been a shock, and he'd been put under by the crushing grip of one. Now, he was staring at two of the giants, and the only thing he was thinking was about the girl.
Logan was the one who had all the answers to this one. But Chris was the one who knew what was going to happen. "That one..." He pointed to the one on the right. "Is the one who grabs her." He glanced at his watch. "One minute..." He added, teeth gritting tightly.
Could he drive a bike? Provided it wasn't too fast, it was at least a possibility.
"I'll get her into that house, if you can stop'em from grabbin' her. No one's home..." He added for good measure. Thirty seconds. It was now or never.
At least the kid was keeping his head, right?

They finally came to the point where Cassidy and Cody would have to part ways. She glanced at the street Cody would be crossing to go the opposite direction to her. She gave him a smile. "Well, looks like we split here, as always. If we don't get together later tonight I'll see you on the way to school tomorrow."
Cody reached out and gave her a hug, knowing how much she hated being alone. "You'll be fine Cass. Nothing is going to happen to you in broad daylight in the five blocks it will take you to get home. You trust me, right?" Cody was smart, and he didn't know about his cousin being a mutant. She herself didn't know it. He'd always been the protector, and she trusted him with her life.
"Yeah, I do Cody." She gave him a small smile as he released her. "See ya."
He gave her one of his huge, killer smiles that had several girls at the school head over heels for him. "See ya." He turned and crossed the street, heading away from her and to his home. She watched him for a moment and then turned and went her own way. Cody's always been right. Nothings ever happened to you when you've been walking home alone. You have nothing to worry about.
Little did she know that today would be different. As soon as she stepped off this block and reached the next, her fears would be realized. Fortunately, help was only a few feet away. And as the giant shadow of the sentinel fell over her, things would hopefully end better than they had in Christian's vision.

"Too late kid grab the bars"Logan hated to do it, he loved the bike to death, but it could always be fixed later. He easily and quickly switched places with Christian. "Drive up beside it!" He shouted, as he stood on the end of the bike, hunched over and ready to leap. As soon as they pulled up close enough Logan jumped, leaping into the air as he came down on the back of the beast. His claws extended and sliced into the metal skin of the Sentinel. It gave a robotic yelp, trying to find the source of the intrusion. Logan started to climb its back quickly, digging his claws into its back each time he moved up. Once he got on its shoulder he looked down at Christian and shouted. "Get her in the house!" Logan growled back as the Sentinel tried to pick him off.
He dodged the first attack easily, swiping at its arm as it tried to grab him, leaving claw marks up and down the metal skin. He was now starting to get really pissed. He leapt once again and was smacked down in mid-air. He fell tot eh ground with a thud, his spine cracking as his back hit the pavement. He Yelped in pain, but quickly rose, popping his back into place. He leapt again, this time for the chest. He but all of his might into the leap, his claws out in front of him. He quickly sliced through the metallic skin, disappearing inside.

It had been shaky, and he'd been terrified for the few seconds he'd been driving the bike. Why hadn't this been a CAR?! He could have handled that! Nevertheless, it was the point of the matter - they had at least accomplished catching the first one off guard. It was the second one that was problematic.
It was behind her - and it had begun speaking. Of course, there was a really strong chance that the girl would be distracted by the kid on the motorcycle, and the man with the claws in FRONT of her... and wouldn't notice the Sentinel.
Nevertheless, he had only one plan of action. And it wasn't much of a plan - it was more of a 'he didn't know how to stop a motorcycle'. So, using that to his advantage, he jumped off, tumbling in not-so expert fashion, causing him to yell out loud when he dislocated his shoulder. The end result? The bike smashed in to the Sentinel's left foot. Though it wouldn't feel pain, it would certainly be distracted, if only long enough for Chris to get back up, panting, and run for the girl.
"I know this is crazy, but come on! Those things aren't playing!" He yelled, knowing full and well he was in trouble when he couldn't even use his prominent arm. The other one was brought out though, to tug her in the direction of the aforementioned house, where, upon arrival he reached in the post box, producing a key.
Ah, the advantage of seeing things. He unlocked the door, and forced it open. No one was home, and the house at least provided cover - even if it wouldn't withstand much punishment from the Sentinel that was left. "The basement's this way... it'll be safer there." He mumbled, trying hard not to bite his lip, otherwise he knew it would be bleeding. His arm hurt like hell, but it was temporarily dampened by the adrenaline rush.

As in the vision Christian saw, the sentinel behind Cassidy started to talk. Before she could spin around to face it though, she spotted the motorcycle bearing down on her and the two sentinels. The man on it jumped off, sprouting claws from his knuckles. The boy, around her own age, crashed the motorcycle into the foot of the one sentinel as the man vanished inside the other having distracted it. She barely had time to think before she was being dragged into an empty house by the teen, away from the two robots.
As he pulled her he said that despite this being crazy, those robots weren't playing. Unlike her cousin though, he didn't ask for her trust. Somehow she still gave it to him. She didn't know what the heck was happening but it scared the heck out of her. It was only when they'd broken into the house and he was trying to get her into the basement that she resisted.
"What the heck are those? And what's happening? Why are they after me?" But.... the guy had sprouted claws. That wasn't normal. These two, they had to be.... "You're mutants, aren't you? What do you want with me? Why were those things stopping me?" And yet, as in Christian's vision things started falling into place. Cassidy was too smart, too logical to not put the pieces together.
"That pegasus, That was my fault," she muttered softly. Not, I'm a mutant. No, she'd jumped way past that in the brief moment. "But.... how?" The boy was still pulling her along and they soon reached the basement stairs. Cassidy's mind wasn't on that though. She let the boy lead her and focused her mind on the moment she knew must have revealed her mutant power. I have to know what I did.

The first Sentinel stood still as Logan dug around inside it. The metal skin vibrated slightly and the ominous red eyes faded into a dark blue. It slowly started to lean backwards. The other one turned to see what was wrong, starring directly at Logan. "Halt Mutant." Its voice rang out in a metallic sound. Logan jumped from the first, his kick giving enough force to knock the dead Sentinel on the ground, giving the Earth a good shake. Logan's claws sank into the second one's skin, peeling back the metallic skin as he slipped inside. It was nothing but wires, just like the first, and at the center sat the brain of it all. He slashed through the wires like vines in a forest until he got to the brain. He stabbed it once, hearing the robot shut down as he jumped out, landing to the ground.
He walked up to the door slowly, panting a bit from the rush of the battle. He rang the door bell, hoping they would hear it. He looked back at the Sentinel who well down to the ground like the one before, rattling the earth slightly as it did so. He chuckled gruffly as he turned back to the door. "I love this job."

His eyes wandered, in the very literal sense - he was watching Logan, to make certain everything would be all right. Yes, he could look in to the future, and in all honesty it would have been smarter to do, just in case they needed to go for help. But he had several distractions - the girl, who was scared, and understanding, and his shoulder. Not to mention the fact that, though it corresponded with his Sight, the earth shook as a Sentinel fell. That was freaky in its own right.
For several seconds, he'd been quiet. "Yeah... we're both mutants... I can see things - like... the future. It's how I knew they'd be coming for you. Logan's a fighter... he heals and stuff. You..." For the first time his eyes turned to her, and he smiled, as best he could. These weren't the best of circumstances for them to meet. "Well, I could peek, but that's not what I do. "
At least not all the time. He'd given in to his better instincts, and looked in to the future once more. "Come on. Back upstairs." He added, and he started them up. "When the Sentinels don't get back, whoever makes'em will probably send more. We've got a safe place to go, where you can call home, then your parents can come and get you."
More than likely, Ororo would have a long talk with them, first. The Sentinels obviously knew who she was, somehow. Either way, Chris wasn't looking in to the future now - as the doorbell rang, he opened the door.
"Didn't wanna keep you waitin'." He said, with a half smile, though his hand returned to his shoulder. Looking back to Cassidy, he said, finally: "My name's Christian. This is Logan. What's your name?" He asked, ignoring the fact that there were two people at two different homes that were looking outside - that had taken in the commotion.
That were calling the police. He'd just make sure they left quick, one way or the other.

The boy could see the future and the man had healing abilities. He also had those claws, though apparently that was the result of something else. And yet.... they didn't know any better than Cassidy what it was she could do. The kid had only seen her being snatched and come to save her. As much as she was grateful, she wished he could have seen what she did.
She was trying to focus on the pegasus moment again when Christian started talking more. "Those were sentinels?" Sentinels had sounded like something a lot less harmful when she'd heard about them on the news. The things literally just picked mutants up off the street though? That was just wrong.
She let him continue to drag her, her thoughts only pausing when he said they had a place she could stay and call home from there. Home just a place wasn't safe for her though. Home was her cousins and her family. Even though he said they could come and get her, she would be putting them in danger.... wouldn't she?
Her thoughts had turned to this when they met Logan at the door. She almost missed him asking her for her name. "My name is Cassidy," she said. Christian and Logan, she could remember those. And yet.... she had to say something more. "I can't go home can I? I wouldn't be safe out here, from those sentinels. I don't know how to use my power either.... whatever it is."
She paused "My family will be safe, right? My parents, my cousins? Those things won't go after them unless they're mutants too, right?" Except..... Cody and Tyler could be mutants. She had know way of knowing any more than she had with herself. "Are my cousin's mutants?"

Logan tapped his foot as he waited for the kids to come greet him at the door. He was worried at first, though not shoving it through any physical emotion or interpretation. It all was eased though when the brown hair boy opened the door to meet Logan. "Well, glad you could make it kid, but we will need introductions later come on!" He grabbed both of their arms and pulled them with him to his beat up bike. He mounted it gently, praying for it to still start. The engine cut on and off then finally stayed on. He grabbed them both, making them hop on before he sped off down the street.
A few minutes later they were pulled up in the drive of the school. The engine shut off as soon as he wen idle on the bike. He sighed taking a look at the damage. The mirrors were smashed and there was a huge dent in the side of the body work. He'd get the kid to help him rebuild it later. He hopped off as he stood, listening to Cassidy. "I don't know if they are out not, when I contact your parents later we will know for sure." His gruff voice rang out. He tried to make it as gentle as possible, but he wasn't that kind of person. He gave a sigh, turning to Christian. "Why don't you show the girl around." He gave a nod to them both before starting to make his way up the marble staircase.
