Hated X-Men

In response to Red's 'Favorite X-Men' thread, I thought I would put one up to find out just who you don't like. Its simple and not different than Red's. Just give us the name of three characters and why you don't like them. I'll go first I guess.

Oh yeah, this is strictly OOC and your feelings on the characters, not the people playing them. I should clear that up and thanks to Raine and Sinister for pointing that out.

1) Scott Summers - Scott is a cry baby boy scout wanna be who does nothing but get all pissy every time Logan looks at Jean. The comics play him up like he's some big bad tough guy when all he is, is some douche who can't even use his own powers without some fancy sissy sunglasses. Cyclops was just to phony and see through for my taste.

2) Jean Grey-Summers - Without the Phoenix force, Jean was nothing but another psychic clone who was afraid of her own shadow and couldn't decide if she really loved her loser boyfriend Scott. Once again, Marvel played her up like she was a goddess when really...she was nothing special. She had no real interesting history and was quite boring altogether. On a side note...I stood up and clapped in the theater when Logan stabbed her in X-3.

3)Jubilee - Come on...she was useless. Her powers were pathetic. Look at me, I can shoot fireworks from my fingers, blah, blah, blah. She never did anything cool with those powers....ever and thus, was a waste of ink and valuable panel space where Wolverine could have been kicking more butt.

-ehem- Now, now. Kiddies, just a reminder. This isn't a dissing thread. If you want to comment on a character then do so properly; with reason.

Anyway, I don't really hate any of the X-men as I see them differently. The reason why I loved X-men exactly is the way they've shown different personalities and such with every character they've had. Whether it be the predictable good guy or the typical bad guy. And still they were able to present them with a uniqueness that is solely their own.

X-men (movie-verse) - I didn't particularly like what they've done to most characters in the movies, in fact I detested some of them. But my opinion only goes to a select few, Cyclops and Jean being the two.

1.) Scott Summers - they didn't really give him a chance to have a part in the movies because people were too busy with developing Storm and Wolverine. He only got a little spotlight and was even killed early on in the third movie.

2.) Jean Grey - She may be my favorite but in the movies...not so. They've gotten the personality a little right but the way they played her part was a disaster.

3.) Logan - He totally destroyed the movie for me. The trilogy seemed to be sub-episodes of him up until he finally got the "full" attention in Origins.

@kurt lol about the standing ovation. I didn't particularly like that scene. XD

Be aware that these are my personal OOC feelings and they do not reflect the players of these characters, or my character's views.

1) Remy Lebeau - I really don't think he's that great of a character. When he was created, it was the early 90s, where it was all about style and no substance. I really think he's only there to draw in female readers.

2) Jean Grey - This isn't anything against Jean in the comics or in the movies, but Jean from the point of view of a roleplayer. Most times I see people play this character, she's the only mondo-powerful person allowed on the board, and it downright frightens me. There are plenty of characters that can be around to balance that out, in case a psycho Jean ever decided to, you know, destroy the universe.

3) Jubilee - I REALLY liked Jubilee better in the early 90s and the animated series, back when she was a young teen punk. As she got older, she lost that "pizazz" so to speak. Her entire character was a mouthy, rebellious youth, and while her character grew out of that, I just miss her being like that.

4) Scott Summers - This is a guy who is knee-deep in hot psychic women throwing themselves at him, yet he continuously whines and broods. I don't get it. Sure, you have to wear glasses or a visor to prevent your out of control powers, but look at the bright side: you can use those powers to punch through a frigging mountain, AND you have all of these hot women wanting you for some godly unknown reason. I think he got the long end of the stick considering it. I feel more sorry for Kurt or Beast than I do for Scott.

Every single mutant who had a power we had seen earlier. Especially those with Superstrength, Telepathy and/or Telekinesis. Over used.

Based on my own OOC feelings I feel that in the cartoons, and even a little bit of the movies until the whole phoenix thing, Jean is often made out to be a mary sue. She's overly perfect and I don't really like it. Same thing with scott. I like it better when he's more of a tough guy. (I actually like him in the new W.A.T.X. cartoon. He's actually less whiny in my opinion) I've also never cared for lance alvers either. He's kind of a minor character in my opinion and Kitty can do much better.
