( This event would take place before 'Secrets and Revelations thread.' )
Christian clutched a small program tight between his fingers, excitement flowing through him. He'd come across an event on the internet, and the more he read about it, the more interesting it became, until finally, he had the place send him the pamphlet with all of the schedules on it. He was not ( currently ) grounded, but since the event took place after hours, it was not really something he was supposed to do, especially without adult supervision.
Which was why he had, to this point, resigned himself to asking around. He considered asking Bobby and Rogue, but he usually came to them for everything. It wasn't fair to keep pestering them, even though he was their friend. He had been more than a little hesitant to ask Ms. Munroe - she was an authority figure beyond the bounds of friendship. He respected her... but he wouldn't really want to hang around with her all night.
Remy was nowhere to be found these days, and Nightcrawler... well, as far as Christian could guess, Kurt wasn't much for the public appearances. So, the last person on his mental list had been Logan. Not because he didn't like Logan - in fact, it was quite the opposite. Logan was his favorite teacher, ever since Ms. Munroe had sentenced them to do combat training together.
He couldn't say he was the best and brightest at that, just yet, but he could tell that Logan really was a good guy. Gruff as hell, and very rarely in a good mood, but good nonetheless. He felt... close to the old guy, though he'd probably never tell him that out loud. That would make it too awkward, or something. Hey, Logan was about as lumberjack as you could get this side of Canada.
No, Logan was on the bottom of his list primarily because he could just guess at the fuss he'd make about playing babysitter to him. But! He'd had a trump card.
"Logan, there's this thing this weekend. It's at the Rockefeller center this Friday night... and, well, because it's at night, I have to have permission..." Of course, it all came down to... Chris, holding the pamphlet in front of him like a pouty puppy, big eyes and everything.
"It's a murder mystery! It's even themed, all based on the board game Clue! And it's up to us to figure out who did what where with the thing!" He was practically buzzing with excitement. "I have to have a chaperone 'cause it's late, the whole thing starts at ten, but I really, really want to do it! Please, Logan? Would you take me? I swear, I wouldn't use my powers at all. There's prizes and stuff, too, for the people that figure it out, and who gets it first, and all that."
His ace in the hole came with: "It would totally make up for that time you dislocated my shoulder with the motorcycle, too!"
Of course, if Logan said no after all that, well, damn. Maybe Quicksilver would come snag him?
( -Grin- Just so you know, this is your opportunity to say no, but you did say doing something out in New York. <3 Left it open ended. )
